AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. The increasing popularity of His Majesty’s picture theatre was again evidenced last night, when there was. a crowded house, patrons enjoying to the full the very line new programme. A feature of the latest series is the great variety of subjects offered. Two Rathe Gazettes supply some splendid glimpses of important events, and the pictures of the great war in the Balkans are -alone worth going far to see. Among the views, is a picture of the Springboks, on their victorious career. There is something infinitely pathetic in the big picture, which tells, as no story could tell, the fate of the Vani- 1 man airship which failed in its attempt to cross the Atlantic. It is only from this film that one can judge thci im-, mouse size of the airship. The dramas are all good. “Tested by Wireless,” in particular, is a remarkable picture study. The scenes are taken on board a White Star Liner, and care is taken to give the public a truly artistic picture. Maurice Costello is the hero of the piece, and in the heroine (a beautiful actress) is introduced a new picture favourite. “An Interrupted Elopement” is really a capital little comedy. The father of Bob’s sweetheart doesn’t think much of him, which fact is made undeniably clear when papa, upon entering the house, surprises the loving couple together and kicks Bob into the street. Bob’s friends suggest an elopement, to which, plan he is heartily acquiescent. It was largely due to a trick of fate and Bob’s quick wit that the plan succeeded. But, ch, what an experience To-night the same bill will be given.
