The Ncav Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report from London under date 28th November, us follows; Wool.—There was a large attendance at the opening of, the sth scries of London sales on 26th inst., for which the net quantity available is 97,000 bales. Competition was keen, both on Horae and Continental account, Avhilo America also operated for suitable lots. The catalogues embraced a full selection of merino, and compared Avith preceding sales closing rates values .marked an ad A'a nee of from 7 V per cent, to occasionally 10 per cent., the appreciation being ■most pronounced on shafty medium sorts and good pieces. Crossbred was poorly represented, the offering consisting mainly of slipe and scoured. For fine and medium sorts, prices Avere about 5 per cent, dearer, coarse grades ruling 7J to 10 per cent, higher. The tone of the market since has been very firm, and the catalogues have been util cleared. Owing to fog? no sales aa as held to-day. Sheepskins.—At the auctions held from 30bit October to Ist November, there Avas a good attendance of buyers and with fairly active competition the bulk of the offering of 6600 bales, Australasian was cleared. As compared with the prices ruling at the preceding sales September 18-20, merino and fine crossbred Avere often Jd pm- lb dearer, other descriptions showing no quotable change. Tallow.—There have been five public auctions since our last advice, and at these the offerings have been but small and the quality unattractive. Price® show but little change, excepting in the case oi edible beef, and for this description si decline of £2 per ton has to he recorded. Fine mutton is still scarce and brings high prices, but these Avould, avc think, give Avay considerably if any quantity Avas available. From present indications it would appear unlikely that much change will take place in values at event® in the near future. In Australasian for arrival, the colonics have offered very sparingly, and little business has been done. Some transactions have taken place Jn good mixed at 32s fid and 15s, no colour at 31s 9<l per cAvt.. c.i.f., whilst fair hard beef near at hand has sold at 33® 3d and 33s 6d per cwt. c.i.f. We quote on the spot: Fine mutton 39s and 41s, fair to good 37® fid and 38s fid, edible beef 36iT ami 37s fid, and fair to good 35s and 35s fid per cwt.
