MAN INJURED AT THE RACES. Thames, December 28. The condition of Frederick Arms, the man who was -knocked down by a horse at the Thames races, is more serious than was at first anticipated. He is still unconscious, having sustained a fracture of the skull, and is suffering from concussion of the brain. A FALL FROM A TREE. Thames, December 28. A native named Puke received injuries to his head by falling from a tree, and also got bis arm broken. CRICKET. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, December 28. In the South Melbourn e-Wellington match the visitor's in their second innings have six wickets down for 98 (McCormack, b Fenton 38; Giller, b Robinson, 17; Kyle, b Robinson, 9; Kenny, b Fenton, 0; Deas, b Robinson, 26; Trofct, b Robinson, 8).
