MADAM BLOCH ACQUITTED

Paris, December 24. Madame Bloch has been acquitted. Her husband assumed entire blame. The crowd in Court loudly applauded the verdict and hissed the husband.

On July, 31st it was reported that a sensation had been caused owing to Madame Bloch, a well-known author, having fatally shot a society lady named Madame Bridgemann Bertrand, in the fashionable quarter of the Madeleine. Madame Bloch declared that Madame Bertrand had been a rival for her husband’s affections. She approached Madame Bertrand, and, saying, “You have ruined my life,” shot her.
