THE RIGHT TO GET DRUNK

Mr Keir Hardie, speaking at South Shields, referring to the trade union congress deliberations respecting the maximum day, said that every trade unionist would be asked to “down tools” when his eight hours was up. he hoped that this would be possible on May 1. In' another speech at Newcastle he said that if needful he was prepared to advocate a strike foi the right of the working classes tc get drunk at their leisure.
