General Hertzog, interviewed, stales that he challenged the Cabinet to disagree on the principle of liis declaration, that where South African Imperial interests conflicted, South African interests came first. None disagreed, but some of his colleagues desired him to write General Botha regretting his utterances and undertaking not to repeat them. But lie felt not the slightest regret, and ho would never write the letter, which would cause him to lose his self-respect.
