A FIGHT IN COURT.

FIREMEN, POLICE AND LAWYERS.

(By Electric Telegraphy-Copyright.)

(United Press Association.) (Received 9.35 a.m.) Adelaide, December 19

The police were roughly handled while arresting some firemen who were deserters from the steamer Clan Alpine. On being charged at the Court two of the accused fiercely attacked the captain of the vessel, and a general melee ensued on the floor, wherein counsel got mixed up. One solicitor received a black eye, and some of the police were knocked out. Two firemen were heavily sentenced, and the others were put in the cells pending the departure of the steamer to New Zealand.
