ENORMOUS BUTTER EXPORT.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, December 17

A train more than half a mile long would be necessary to carry the record shipment of butter that is being made from Auckland to England and Canada this week. It comprises 39,000 boxes, forming a fortnightly shipment. On Friday 70,000 boxes will be shipped by the Mamma to Canada, and on Saturday the Corinna will sail from Onchunga with 29,000 boxes and 160 crates of cheese for transhipment by the lonic at Wellington, to Do delivered in London. The Mokoia will take 100 crates of cheese on Saturday for transhipment at Wellington into the Ofcaki, by which it will bo carried to Bristol.

This fortnight’s export of butter establishes - a new record, eclipsing the previous largest, which comprised 31,096 boxes and formed the last shipment in November. The record shipment of last season was 26,621 boxes. »inßuttf!nT'vhipmen.ts ..during the present season (from September 9 to December 20) have reached a total oi 180,234 boxes, compared with 139,994 boxes during the period from September 16 to December 23 last year, an increase of -10,210 boxes, equivalent to 29 per cent.
