Welsh defeated Mehegan on point

Welsh put up a splendid defence. His footwork and ringeraft were very clover, frequently frustrating Meliegan’s chance of landing a good blow. Mehegan was very strong and .always threatened danger, but found \\ olsh difficult to hit. There was a good deal of clinching iu the latter part of tne contest.
