Thursday’s change includes a special film taken of the Melbourne Cup. The management have been exceedingly fortunate in securing this picture, which is stated to be a record racing film. “The Frenzy of Fire-water” is an excellent picture, the scenaria of which runs: Kate tells her sweetheart, Dan, that she will not see him until be overcomes his taste for drink, and the young man, feeling that the world is against him, casts his lot with Wheeler, a liquor trader. Wheeler siiows Dan the manner in which he mixes alcohol, tobacco, and water and disposes of the compound to the Indians. The two traders meet a party of Indians to whom they deliver a supply of the deadly fire-water, and secure blankets and skins in return. Crazed by the liquor, the Indians raid Kate’s cabin, killing her father and leading her away captive. When Dan and Wheeler reach the dismantled cabin, the young man realises the havoc which his thoughtlessness lias caused. He denounces Wheeler and succeeds in rescuing Kate from the Indians, only to he pursued by the a hole tribe. The Hoeing couple meet a large party of settlors, who make a barricade of the prairie schooners, and a terrific battle soon rages. The Indians are fin ally put to llight and Kate becomes convinced of Han’s reformation.
