ATHLETICS. THE 'NEW ZEALAND AMATEUR ASSOCIATION. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, November 25. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association was held to-night. _ _ , Itr avhs decided to notify the Centies that certain clubs were uulinancial, and to request that they have no representation on the Centres unt l tlieii subscriptions are paid. The 'following officers were elected: President, Mr A. Marryatt (re-elect-ed) ; vice-presidents, Messrs C. E. Bridge and J. C. Cusack; tary and treasurer, Mr IV. G. Talbot ; hbiid auditor, Mr C. D. Morpeth; reinstatement committee, Messrs W. h ■ Larkin, G. E. Bridge, and B. A. Ghise. The New Zealand Championship meeting next year was allotted to Wellington. The chairman sa:d it had been practically decided to secure a ' Lit from several of America’s champion athletes, and it remained for the meeting to make final arrangements. About £3OO was required’to finance the tour, and the following guarantees had been received; Wellington £6O and half the -profits, Otago £SO, Masterton and Southland £3O each and half the profits. If a contract was entered into tho men would arrive in Wellington about January 2nd. He said it must be understood that the tour, would be under the auspices of the New Zealand Association, and that body only. It was not a matter for the'Australasian Union. If the tour was extended to Australia it would by express agreement with the New Zealand Association. It was decided to cable to All' Unmack’and agree to the tour, provided the team comprises the following: lionne (for preference) or Rose, Smithson, Maclure, a sprinter (not named), and Mr Unmack as manager. A sub-eommittoe, * consisting of Messrs Marryatt, Bridge and Guise was appointed to arrange the details of the tour. Mr Crouch (the retiring Otago delegate) promised a challenge shield for competition among the schools in New Zealand. Wt H. Whitaker (Invercargill) and Roy Fordham (Auckland) were granted re-instatement. It was decided to reinstate a number of athletes in --Blenheim provided the club becomes affiliated.
SCULLING. Sydney, November 2b. Pearce having definitely decided to. meet Barry, .the sweepstakes amongst his challengers for the Australian championship have been abandoned. Felton has offered to row C. Towns' and Padden fof £2OO aside each. The offer has been accepted. He will meet Towns first, and the victor may challenge Pearce before he departs for England. CRICKET. Brisbane, November 2b. Queensland, in their second innings, scored 100, and New South Wales, in their second attempt, have two wickets down for 81.
