A UNIQUE DEFENCE. (Received 9.45 a.m.) Sydney, November 26. lA curious case- came before the Police Court. A retired railway guard was charged with interfering with r tramway appliance. The evidence was discovered by a conductor when trying to undo the centre pin of a coupling. Defendant, testified that he was unconscious through epilepsy, and when the tram stopped, he thought he was at his old employment. The. Magistrate accepted the explanation and dismissed the case.
