There is an enormous movement in wheat in America. The Australian JanuarvKebrnary shipment brought .Tbs I pi, a Eebruarv-Alarch shipment 37« ltd, and i an April shipment. Tbs S)d. Liverpool futures- December-. March 87.1 cents, May BG| cents. 37 s 9d and 38s were paid for Octobcr-Novembor parcels and .i(is ,3d is asked for Jaiuiary-Ecbruary shipments. Australian spot is in small supply and is nominally at 41s to 41s Gd. ' ‘ Elour is quiet. Australian patents 88s, ex store. ‘27s is asked for new crop, c.i.f. ()at« are dull. A Cartons sold at 2Gs Gd to 275, and 15 at 2,5 s 3d to 25s 1 I’d. La Plata Janunry-Fcbniary shipments 15s 9d. Leans are in fair demand. New Zealand are practically exhausted and are nominally at 38s Gd to 395, ex-store. Peas are quiet. 41s is asked for an Octobcr-Novembor shipment. A South Australian sailor cargo, fixed for ,lan-uary-February was sold at 38s Dd. Colonial Butter.—There was a disappointing sale. Choicest Australian brought 108 s to 112 s; fancy Victorian, Illsj New Zealand, 114 sto 116 s and a few at 117 s ; Argentine, 106 s to 110 s; unsalted ,112 s; Danish, 127 sto 1295. Cheese is dull. Now Zealand white, 60s; coloured, Gls. Canadian, G2s to Gls.
AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, November 22.2 3500 bags of Clarence River potatoes have arrived and values have dropped to £l4, a fall of £8 for the week. Medium sorts are quoted at £10; old New Zealand at £l4 to £ls are difficult to sell. In sympathy with poatocs, onions fell £l. NEWTON KING’S WEEKLY REPORT. At Whangamnmona on Friday, owing .to the had weather and also to one vendor being unable to muster his cuttle out of the bush, all stock entered did not come forward. There was a fair attendance and with the exception of tAvo or three pens everything was sold at satisfactory prices. Twelve to 15 month steers made £3 to £3 8s Gd, empty heifers £3 Is to £■3 7s, hulls £2 15s to £3 7s, springing heifers £5, store coavs £3 15s. At the Haymarket, Ncav Plymouth, on Saturday, lGth,l had a big entry of pigs, all being cleared at the following rates :—Weaners 8s to 11s Gd, slips from 15s to 225, small stores np to 275, good to 38s, soavs £2 10s. Dn Monday, 18th inst., at Okato. for Mr 11. H. Coltman’s clearing sale, 1 had a very large attendance, buyers gathering from all parts of Taranaki. Toe dairy coavs wore in excellent condition reflecting great credit on the vendor. About 12 coavs had been in ,n Ik all the winter and including these the herd averaged £8 ss. Prices, considering the cuality of the cattle, were considerably in advance of recent sales, as follows:—Small Id month heifers £2 Ids to £3 2s, good £3 os 6d to £3 12s, 13 month steers (with colour), £2 12s to £2 19®, good Id month steers £3 7s, 2-year empty heifers £3 19s Gd to £■! .MATTHEWS AND BENNETT’S REPORT. Matthews, Bennett and Co. reports that there was a fair yarding of cattle in their Inglewood yards on Wednesday last, prices were good and nearly every lot sold well, springing heifers £3 to £7, dairy cows £4 to CG 13s, store cows £2 10s to £3 13s Gd, fat cows £G Gs, bulbs £3 to £3 Is, yearlings to 13 months £2 IGs to C 3 2s, 2-year to 2V £4 13s Gd (steers).
