A NEW POST OFFICE.

HON. W. HERRIES HONOURED. (Per Press Association.) Te Arolia, November '22. The Hon. W. Hcrries opened the Post. Office at Waihon yesterday, and in the evening was entertained t a banquet by the settlers of the districi. Mr W. P. Cliepmell, for many years chairman of the Piako County Council, presided, and there was a large attendance of old pioneers of the district. In replying to the toast of Jos health, Mr Herries said that R was the farming community who had put the Reform Government in power. H was generally agreed that they Jnul got through their first session creditably. All their measures had been carried, and they had not suffered a single defeat. The old Liberal Party had dropped into oblivion, and was without a leader and without a policy. He pointed out that lie had raised the salaries of the railway servants and had vastly improved the prospects of the Maoris. To-day Mr Hcrries was entertained at a garden party in the To Arolia Domain. There was a very large attendance and the proceedings passed off with great eclat.
