WEDDING BELLS.

On Tuesday last at the Roman Catholic Church Miss Unita Tocker, second daughter of Air and Mrs W. L. Tocker, was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Mr Charles Joseph Shanahan, of Hawera, second son of Air and Airs J. Shanahan, of Pahiatua, the Rev. Father Alaplcs officiating at the ceremony. The bride, who was attended by her brother, Air L. A. Tocker, wore a gown of lavender crepe do chine, trimmed with satin and rich oriental trimmings and black hat trimmed with ivory guipure lace, feathers and tiny clusters of pale pink roses. She was attended by Miss Aileen Tocker as bridesmaid, who wore a dress of rieux rose resilda trimmed with taffeta silk and oriental braid to match. Air J. Shanahan, of Pahiatua, acted as best man. The Rev. Father Alaples was the celebrant at the nuptial mass. The parties were well known in the Stratford and Huwera districts, and a numerous, costly and unique collection of presents tosti tied to their popularity. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a beau tiful gold chain and pendant and to tiie bridesmaid a handsome gold bangle. Air and Mrs Shanahan left ii. the evening for Auckland and Rotorua, where the honeymoon is being spent. Airs Shanahan’s travelling dress was a mole-coloured costume and hat to match.
