A RISE IN PRICES. (Per Press Association.) Tirnaru, November 20. The first wool sale of the season was held here to-day. The offerings totalled just on 1000 bales, of which 924 were fold under the hammer. The general condition of the wool was the best seen for years. (American operators were the keenest and then the Dominion woollen mills. The Bradford buyers’ limits appeared to be below those of the Dominion and American buyers. Comparing with 1911 wool is Rl to 3d bettor value, on account of greater soundness, longer staple, and lightness in grease. The actual difference in prices works out about id per lb all round in favour of this season. Medium to good merino brought 83d to lOjjd, super half bred 12d to 134,d, medium lOd to 12.\d, super three-quarter bred IORI to 13s, medium to good crossbreds 9RI to 12R1, super crossbred lOd to IOJd.

LONDON MARKETS. London, November 20. Wheat is steadier. Australian Jan-uary-Fobruary shipments are quoted at 37s 8d ; February-March shipments 37s 6d. The Chicago visible supply is 96,900,000 quarters. Copper, £7B to £7B 12s 6d. Tin, £227 5s to £227 15s. Lead, £lB 2s 6d.

VICTORIA’S WHEAT. Melbourne, November 20. It is estimated that the Victorian wheat crop will be from, twenty-four to twenty-five million bushels. THE POTATO MARKET. Sydney, November 20. The high price of potatoes has diminished public purchases ,and a drop has resulted, the tubers now selling at £l9 to £2O. The Warrimdo’s cargo fetched £lB. T. LAMASON’S REPORT. Last Saturday I, held my usual sale at the Haymarket. A very good entry of pigs came to hand ,also a very good attenance of farmers. I quote as follows:—Weaners 13s to 20s, slips 20s to 275, stores 30s to 375; hens Is Gel to 2s Gel, ducks 2s to 2s Gd, roosters 2s to 3s; cauliflowers 4s Gd to 6s 6d doz., furniture, etc., at usual auction rates.
