STRATFORD GUN CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Stratford Gun Club was licit! last evening. The president (Mr A. Stewart) presided over a fair attendance of members. The report and balance-sheet which have already been published in the “Evening Post,” were adopted. Speaking to the report, the Mayor (Mr W. P. Kirkwood) said the Club certainly continued to hold its own. When the new gun arrived, he thought interest would be stimulated, as in other seasons, lack of competitions, sometimes brought about a certain slackness. OFFICERS. Officers for the year were elected as follows:—Patron, His Worship the Mayor (Mr AY. P. Kirkwood); president, Mr A. Stewart; vice-presidents, Messrs E. J. Kirkwood and A. C. Marr; committee, Messrs H. Campbell, AY. R. Davies, AY. P. Korkwood, G. Symc', AY. J. Morrison, A. Scott and H. A T oyle; hon. secretary, Mr G. 1). Hunter; handicapper, Air AAh J. Morrison; chairman of committee, Air W. I’. Kirkwood. GENERAL. The annual sub. was fixed at ss, and it was decided that the committee he constituted the match committee. A vote of thanks was, on the motion of the President, passed to the Stratford Racing Club for the use of their grounds. Air A. C. Marr was similarly thanked for the ‘use of his paddock on one occasion. Another vote of thanks was accorded to the handicapper (Air Morrison), and Messrs T. Afcrcer and T. D. Colson, and the ; President for donations. lAi special vote was parsed in honour of the secretary (Air G. I). Hunter) amid considerable applause. Members eulogised the energetic service rendered the club by its popular secretary. A voao of thanks was also passed to the Golf Club for storing gear in the pavilion on the course. It was suggested to open the season with a match between teams picked by the President and Vice-president in a fortnight’s time (Dec. 5). Owing to the number of fixtures, however, it was decided to hold the first shoot for the Ballistite Cup on this date, in place of the proposed match, entries to close on Saturday, November 30th. A sweepstake will also l>e held on the same day.
