INDUSTRIAL UNREST.
AUCKLAND AFFECTED. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, November 19. Tho Waihi Strtke Committee emphatically repudiates the rumours in circulation to-day that attempts were to.be made to cause riots in connection with Mr Massey’s visit to. AucklandAll the Waihi men have been specially warned to keep aloof from these meetings, and a similar warning has been issued to Federation members » and ■sympathisers. A disgraceful scene caused ’ey the Federatiouists took place after Mr Massey's meeting. A crowd, apparently of Foderatiouists and strikers, being disappointed of being robbed af .the opportunity of giving a hostile reception to the Prime Minister, gave rent to their spleen -by a frenzied chorus of “boohing,” and for a while tilings looked decidedly' ugly. Commissioner Cullen, however, took in the situation at a .glance, and marshaling the police 100 strong succeeded in Hearing the streets in a comparatively short time.
