DIED AT 120 YEARS.
FAMOUS MAORI CHIEFTAINESS
(Per Press Association.) Dannevirke, November 40. The death occurred at the Tahoraite pa of the Maori woman, Atonato Vv hr. • rekiri (whose age is stated to be 120 years). In troublous times her busband, Hokepa Paewai, was. a friendly chief, and with deceased, did much, to quell the warlike spirit of the tribe. Most of the Tahoraite block was owned by the deceased and her descendants. A tangi will bo held.
