PRESBYTERIAN ASSEMBLY

o (Per Press Association.) Wellington, November 19. At the Presbyterian Assembly to-day .the new Rhodes Scholar (Mr F. F. Miles) was presented by the Principal of Knox College and was heartily congratulated. In reply, Mr Miles said it would be very hard to find an institution bettor calculated to improve a student mentally, morally, and physically than Knox College. Some discussion took place on the question of the course of study for students for the Ministry. The report recommended the enhancement of the importance of Greek in the curriculum. Several speakers also emphasised the necessity of including Latin among the compulsory subjects. Sociology was also suggested as compulsory. The subject the Assembly rejected was the inclusion of compulsory Latin.
