ROWDY LEGISLATORS.
SPEAKER WILLIS AND HIS MERRY MEN. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (United Press Association.) ' (Received 9.5 a.in.) Sydney, November 19. Protracted sittings preparatory to the closing of the session disorganised the Assembly, and an extraordinary scone of disorder followed lasting nearly two hours. This resulted in the ejection of Messrs Bruntnell, Cohen, Levy, Falliek, White and Wood. The deputy leader of the Opposition and Messrs Gardiner and Borham also came into collision with the Speaker, and were named. The trouble arose through the Ser-geant-at-Arms reporting that Mr Perry ifter his removal was ordered during die recent sitting, returned to the House and participated in the business in defiance of authority. Mr McGowen moved that Mr Perry ic adjudged guilty of contempt, and ic was suspended for a week. A series of angry scenes followed, wherein the Speaker was accused of petulance, jf insulting members, and of stifling the truth. His rulings were strongh resented. Amongst others three Ministerialists entered protests, Mr Hoi nan trying to throw oil upon the moulded waters. The Speaker remarked that if he understood the Attorney-General was mcouraging the Opposition, he wouk ■ertainly deal with him. The Speak ir’s reply to the charges was that the chair was paramount, and that if i member was ordered to withdraw that should be sufficient. # y . The excitement continued to in mease, and business was impossible. Mr Ed den suddenly moved the ad ournment of the debate amid uproar, ind Speaker Willis declared the me don carried for an adjournment until ;o-day. There was loud cheering from nixed groups of members..
