DOMINION NEWS.

THE REEFTON STRIKE. (Por Press Association.) Reefton, November 17. The ballot re the* agreement referred to the members of the Inangahua Miners’ Union resulted in an overwhelming majority (258 to 103) in favour of ratifying the agreement. Only two places were against agreement—Big River and Waiuta. A good deal of opposition against it was overcome at the end of the week. The Consolidated minors have been getting ready to start work all the week, and it is expected that this coming week, will see a general resumption. The men are already flocking back to work from all around. The general feeling is very j hopeful. Reefton stood the six months’ trouble, starting on May 18 and ending on November 16, much better than was expected, but latterly the strain has been very heavy indeed. The general feeling amongst the men is that they are glad to get back to work. They are sick and tired of the trouble. WELLINGTON COMPETITIONS. Wellington, November 17.
