A .MEMBER’S PROTEST
Sydney, November 13
While the Assembly was discussing the Estimates, .Air. Wood protested against the Treasury paying back his share of the increased salary members had recently voted themselves. He characterised their action as unwarrantable and an impertinence, being an attmpt to place him in a false position by making him accept the increase against which he had voted. Ho returned the first instalment, and intimated tliat he would not draw the money in future.
THE CAS BILL

Owing to a Ministerial statement that the amendments proposed in Council in the Gas Bill were unlikely to be accepted, the Gas Company’s Employees’ Union again, resolved that a secret ballot, be held on the question of striking for a shilling increase. The ballot lias been postponed pending tin fate of the Bill.
NEW SOUTH WALES FINANCE
Mr Coghlan (Agent-General) recommended the Minister to visit London ir 1913 and confer with the New South Wales Government’s financial advisors regarding- the flotation of future loans. It was stated that if the Government approves of the recommendation, the Minister departs shortly.
