MR. CRISP IN THE PRESS

Mr Crisp, in a letter to the press, explains that the reason that he entered into the Chinese loan business was because he knew Sir Edward Grey was without the sanction of Parliament or public opinion. He bad given a monopoly secretly to the British banking house, to the exclusion of ali other British firms. If Sir Edward Grey pursued his present policy (continued Mr. Crisp), Britain’s participation in the development of China wouK. not exceed what other nations would permit.
