BECKER’S LAMENTATION.

New York, November 4

Becker, the police lieutenant who is now awaiting sentence for the murder of Herman Rosenthal, has boon very quiet since the conclusion of the trial.

The guard in charge of the cell occupied by him at the Tombs prison questioned him yesterday as to whether he was sorry at the result of the trial.

Becker replied: “I am the victim )f a judicial murder.”

“Gyp the Blood,” “Whitney,” Lewis, “Lefty Louie,” and “Dago frank,” four of the men alleged to have boon implicated in the murder, were in a state of panic when they heard of the verdict against Becker. They all fear the revenge of the New Vork underworld for the evidence they gave at the trial.

Encouraged by the result of the tril, William Shapiro, owner of the motor car in which Rosenthal’s assassins drove to and from the scene of the murder, lias, it is staid, completed the confession -that he made shortly after Ids arrest, and has named the men by whom the actual shooting was done. ‘
