UNITED LABOUR PARTY.

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE.

(Per Press Association.) ■

Wellington, November 7. , A meeting of the Dominion Executive Council of the United Labour Patty was held to-day, the president the Hon. J. T. Paul) presiding. It was decided to prepare and issue a circular on the question of State fire insurance to all unions. Preliminary arrangements were made for the coming municipal campaign and elections. The Council placed on record its very high appreciation of the work of the Labour members of both Houses during the session. In view of certain published statements, it was resolved: “That no person is authorised to act in the capacity of organiser for the party except he is a member of this Council, or is appointed by and reports to and acts under the direction of the national organiser as agent of this party.” It was also agreed “That the Dominion Executive Council of the United Labour Party definitely affirms that neither the ‘Voice of Labour’ (Auckland) nor any other paper in New Zealand has any authority to speak editorially on behalf of this party in the matter of the present industrial troubles at Waihi or on any other ouestions, and that all official declarations and announcements of the party are now made through the columns of those papers which have granted space to the party and are published in all cases under the party’s official heading.’’ A largo amount of routine business was transacted, and the reports show considerable accessions of strength recently gained.
