(Per Press Association.) Nelson, November 7

In the Supreme Court L. Aney claim - ed £SOO from Alex Brown for unlawful arrest and imprisonment. The Judge held that plaintiff had failed to prove what was reasonable—the pro liable cause. Judgment was for defendant with costs.

WELLINGTON SESSIONS. Wellington, November 7. At the Supremo Court to-day, the following prisoners were sentenced; Frederick White (theft), four months’ imprisonment; A. H. Widdas (assault), nine months’ imprisonment; G. Maxwell (forgery and uttering), probation, and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution; E. W. Jacobs (failing to keep proper books for three years prior to his bankruptcy), two months’ imprisonment without hard labour.
