In the’ Supreme Court a verdict of guilty .was returned against Loasby Tocker, charged with having delayed postal matter. The ChiefJustice, taking prisoner’s youth into consideration, imposed a fine of CIO.

George Maxwell, charged with'forging a cheque for £3 9s and uttering the same, was found guilty on the second count and remanded till Thursday for sentence. Edward Wilfred Jacobs, charged that being bankrupt he had contracted debts without having any resonablc or probable expectation of being able to pay the same and that he had failed to keep such books as would show his proper financial position, was found guilty on the second count. Sentence was deferred till Thursday. In Chambers an order for adjudication in bankrutpey was made in the case of A. 13. De Saint Remain, dairyman, the sum of £lO5 4s being involved. In Northcott v. Hughes, a claim in connection with a patent which was to have been registered in Australia, an order was made for the case to be heard by a special jury.
