HIS MAJESTY’S THEATRE. i : : "V - To-night at Bernard’s Pictures, two , : “star” dramas figure in the complete change of programme.'Every one likes Maurice Costello, as his presence in a picture means splendid acting. Tnis time he appears in “The Spider’s Web.” A typical American story, it deals with sharpers of the “Get Rich Quick Wallingford” typo, clever men and cruel. The victim escapes, but not ’before some exciting moments, during which excitement funs high. A remarkably fine picture, it should not be missed. The other “star” drama in “Dark Feather’s Strategy,” the story of which runs: The Moosehide Indians, led by their valiant chief, Graywolf, wage war upon their old enemies, the Frazier Rivers. Graywolf and Little Panther, one of his favourite warriors, ride oiit to reconnoitre. Coming unexpectedly upon their enemy, Graywolf falls wounded. Little Panther bravely returns to rescue him, and he succeeds. JRaincloud, who loves and is loved'by Graywolf’s daughter Dark Feather, is despatched upon a perilous scouting expedition. Little Panther becomes enamoured with Dark Feather and the chief gladly accedes to the re quest. Dark Feather learns of her be trothal with dismay. She 'goes to the mountains to await her lover’s return, but is followed by Little Panther, who angrily demands her return to the village with him to become his squaw. She resists him with force. Raincloud hears her cries for help and quickly goes to her assistance. Little Panther and Raincloud battle to the death. Raincloud is victorious. They go for forgiveness to her father, but Raincloud is seized and bound by his tribesmen, while they prepare to burn him at the stake, but Dark Feather, dashing to the side of Raincloud, cuts 1m bonds, and they dash away to freedom.
