The Council met at 2.30 p.m. Washing Up, The amendments made by the House in the Births and Deaths Registration Bill wore agreed to. In Committee, on the Defence Amendment Bill, in sub-section 2, clause 64, providing for exemption from m litary service on the ground of religious belief, the words “contrary to tiie doctrines to bis religion” were altered to “contrary to his Veligions belief.” On the motion of the Minister the Bill was reported with amendments. The Widows’ Pensions Bill was reported with technical amendments, and the Council rose.
