Mr Newton King’s weekly butter and cheese report from Messrs R. and W. Davidson, Ltd., of London and Glasgow, under date 12-9-12, states inter alia:— Danish and Swedish.—The arrivals this week show a further decrease of 827 casks. Siberian.—There is still a fairly good enquiry for' strictly fancy quality at 106 s to 108 s; up to 110 s, but secondary descriptions continue to be'pressed for sale at low and irregular prices. Good to fine is' easily obtainable at 98s to 102 s, with inferior grades 90s to 965. . Market remains very firm in Siberia. French.—Official quotations are now:—Extra mild 118 sto 1225, Paris Baskets Ills to 1245, finest Ills to 116 s, good to fine 108 s to 112 s, inferior 96s to 104 s. Irish Creamery.—For strictly choicest salted 118 s to 119 s is now being asked, with choicest unsalted 120 s to 121 s. Secondary goods, which are still over plentiful, meet with a poor demand at--.prices ranging from 104 s to 110 s. Colonial Butter.—Australian: Second and third grades meet with a very poor enquiry at prices ranging from 98s up to 104 s. Choicest quality, if there were any of such on offer, would l)e worth 112 s to Ills for salted, with 2s more for unsalted. Now Zealand : Nominal quotations, 120 s to 1225. Cheese.—Now Zealand: There is practically nothing on offer ; nominal quotations 60s to 68s. Wo believe there is an effort on the part of a few houses to “bear” the position \n the hope that prices for New Zealand for the season may ho materially reduced. Canadian: The market this week is slightly weaker; c.i.f. prices show a reduction of Is per cwt. Spot goods are also obtainable at a shade less money; choicest white 65s 6d to 675, choicest coloured 60s to 67s 6d.
