Australian cargoes sold for 40s 9d, while 41s 6d is aslcod for a shipment off the coast; 38s 9d is being asked for a Janliary-February shipment, and 38s 6d for a FebruaryMarch shipment. Liverpool futures, December 93|, March 91, Australian spot (quiet) 425, New Zealand 41s 6d. Flour.—Australian, 29s ex-store; there is an easier tendency in sympathy with wheat. Oats.—Dull; La Plata, Octobcr-No-vember 19s lid. Beans and Peas.—Steady. Butter.—Firm and unchanged. The tone of the market is bullish, owing to the dry weather in Australia and the small shipments as compared with 1911. Copper, £76 5s to £77 10s. Electrolytic, £Bl 5s v Tin.—Forward, £225 15s. Iron, 60s 9d. Spelter, £27 7s 6d. Sugar.—German 9s Gd, first marks 12s 3d. Bradford Wool.—Quiet; 50’s 19id, 46’s 16s, 40’s llijd; other sorts unchanged. London, October 19. Frozen Mutton.—Southland, 4fd; North Island, 4 5-16 d; best brands, 4fd; New Zealand ewes, 3|d; Australian light, 4d (no ewes are offering) ; River Plate, heavy, 4d. Lamb: Canterbury, light, sfd; medium, sfd; North Island, 5 5-16 d; selected brands, s|d. Beef;—New Zealand freezers, 2fd; hindquarters, 3|jd; Australian forequarters, 2|d; hindquarters, 3fd; River Plate frozen forequarters, 2|d; hindquarters, 3sd; chilled forequarters, 2d; hindquarters, 4id. Rabbits are firm, and in excellent demand, Colonials bringing full prices. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., and Reduced, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date 16th inst:— Tallow.—We quote present spot values for the following descriptions: —Good mutton 39s 3d per cwt., good beef 365, mixed 335. The market shows a lower tendency. Wheat.—We quote 41s 6d, c.i.L, Australian cargo. The market is quiet but steady, and the outlook is uncertain. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. Wellington, October 21. The High Commissioner cables under date London, October 19th:— Butter.—The market is firm at an advance and active with a good 'demand. The Kaikoura shipment bf unsalted butter arrived in, good condition, and was offered at 134 s (in second hand), Dinisli 181 s, ' Siberian' 112 s, Australian 115 s, Argentine 125si Cheese.—The market is quit with a tendency in favour of buyers. Canadian white 64s 6d, coloured 65s 6d.
