A. AND P. MATTERS.
THE HAWERA SHOW. Readers will note from our adver> tising columns that the annual spring Show at Hawera is timed this year for November 20th and 21st—a fortnight later than last year, and a week after the Wanganui Show. The Hawera Show always attracts visitors from all over the Dominion. This year’s fixture promises to eclipse any of its predecessoi’s in regard to quality and number of exhibits in the stock sections. Cattle, as usual, are receiving special attention, and with the addition of the New Zealand Jersey Breeders’ and the New Zealand Ayrshire Breeders” Associations’ champion gold medals, the classes will ho particularly attractive. Trophies are freely distributed in all the sections, and the prize list is on a generous scale. Amongst numerous specials, the solid silver challenge cup presented by the New Zealand Shipping Co., Ltd., is a beautiful one. This cup will go to the exhibitor scoring the greatest number of points in the purebred Holstein and Jersey classes. The champion butter-fat competition will bo of interest again this year, and splendid paddock accommodation will ho provided for exhibitors. The rnifk testing classes open to farmers’ sons and daughters, public and high school students, is of educational value, and good entries are again anticipated. Schedules may su'L bo had from the secretary at Hawera, or from the local Agricultural Society.
