TERRITORIAL MATTERS.
"OUR REGIMENT." The scenery at the Town Hall, which has hoen in use for a considerable number of years, is now being renovated. Mr Will Diamond, whose reputation as a scenic artist is beyond dispute, has been selected to make the necessary improvements and alteration!?. The public will have an opportunity of seeing the new scenes when the Stratford Dramatic Society put on the 3-act comedy "Our Regiment," for the purpose of raising funds for the Territorial Sports Club. We are told authoritatively that the last act of this production will be an eye-opener. It represents an illuminated garden scene. It would be hardly fair to describe the .scene in detail but suffice it to say a special wire will be required to carry tlio extra lighting necessary for tin's act, also hundreds of roses and flowers will be wanted. The arrangements are well in hand for the production, which will take place at the Town Hall on the 30th and 31st of this month. By being advised of the dates well in advance, the public should set apart one of these evenings for having a good night's amusement and a real hearty laugh. VISIT OF BRIGADE-MAJOR. Brigade-Major Captain Hamilton arrives to-morrow night in Stratford. On Friday he intends touring the district to select a manoeuvring ground for an open air class of instruction. Officers and non-commissioned officers of the 11th Regiment will attend this class on Saturday, and will carry out a tactical scheme over the ground selected.
