DUNEDIN BAND CONTEST.

11.13. FLAT BASS. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, October 14. At the band contest this afternoon tho BB flat bass solo was decided. Result: W. Fenton (Woolston) 97 points. 1; T. Rodgers (Lyttelton), and E. Fraser (Kaikorai) 96 points, 2. In the evening the first test selection for the B grade bands was played, consisting of selections from “Maritana.” The following bands competed:—Ashburton Municipal, Balclutha, Caversham, Invercargill Hibernian, Blenheim, Stanmore, Dominion (Invercargill), Ashburton Temperance, Timaru Marine. The own-choice selection will be played to-morrow night.
