WANGANUI SHOW. On November 13th and Ilth, the Agricultural Association’s g’Wnd annual show, in conjunction with The Wanganui Kennel Club, will be ' hold, and grand spectacular events are provided for each day, including steeplechase and leaping competitions; maiden and open hunters’, pony jumping, and other competitions of inter-j est, in a well-arranged programme. The j first competition for the North. Island Draught Horse Challenge Shield, valued at sixty guineas, is a special feature, and no less than sixteen sterling silver cups are offered in various classes. It is claimed that, judging by the success which attended last year’s effort, the Kennel Club’s Show (which is to he held in conjunction with the Agricultural Show), should easily be the premier dog show of the year. Excursion fares on the railway will he j granted from all parts of the North 1 island. Entries close on October 30th, with the secretary, Mr Selby Morton, from whom catalogues may be obtained. A notification regarding this Show appears in another column.

STRATFORD SHOW

The schedule for the Stratford Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s Spring Show is now being circulated, and intending exhibitors who have not received a schedule may obtain one on application to the secretary, Mr W. B. ii'earon, Stratford. The schedule contains classes in cattle, horses, sheep, pigs, dogs, dairy produce, homo industries, vehicles, implements, technical classes, and school children exhibits. The whole of the classes are well endowed with prize money, and should ittract exhibitors in even greater numbers than last year when a record list of entries was received, totalling 2250. The New Zealand Jersey Breeders’ As 4 ■sociation have allotted two valuable trophies to be competed for in N.Z., ore of the trophies being presented to the Auckland A. and P. Association, and the other to the Stratford Association. Each of these trophies is valued in London at £l7 17s. In the Stratford schedule the trophy is allotted to class No. 9G, with the following conditions:—“Best three Jersey cows or heifers (in milk) property of and bred by one exhibitor. Animals to :e entered or eligible for entry in the N.Z. Jersey Herd Book.” With the trophy are also given first, second, and third prizes. Silver cups, and special money prizes are scheduled in other pedigree cattle classes. Champion gold medals are given in the cattle arid horse sections, while numerous special prizes and trophies are given in the sheep, pig, dog, and poultry sections. The schedule is comprehensive and worthy of attention. .Entries bloke on the 21st November. ,
