(Per Press Association.) Kihikihi, October 7. In connection with the rohbciy at the Alpha Hotel, Kihikihi, as reported last week, when £6O was alleged to have been stolen from the till during tho proprietor’s temporary absence from the bar, a man named John James Weston has been arrested at Palmerston'North. It appears that Weston boarded at the hotel on the night of the robbery, having arrived in Kihikihi the same day. Nothing is known of Weston’s career. Ho will he charged at To Awamutu Police Court on Saturday. Gisborne, October 11. A four-roomed house on Riverside road, owned and occupied by W. Rowland, was completely destroyed by fire this afternoon. The building was insured for £250 in the South British Office. The furniture was uninsured.
