At a meeting of waterside workers 200 were present. There was a lively discussion on the motion to abandon the holiday and demonstration to-mor-row, and it was rejected by 120 to 80. As the meeting was not fully representative it was agreed to take a fuller vote to-morrow morning. Napier, October 9. The trawler Nora Niven is temporarily laid up owing to a difficulty with the crew. The men objected to the cook being engaged by the owners, and they declined to go to sea unless an alteration was made.
