WATER POLLUTION BILL.

ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY PROTESTS.

At a special meeting of the Stratford Acclimatisation Society, held last evening in the office of the Society’s secretary (Mr-B. Fearon). the “Pollution of Water Bill.” recently introduced by the Hon. Mr Massey, was discussed, the President (Mr W. P. Kirkwood) in the chair. It was resolved that this Society considers that the Bill entitled the “Pollution of Water Act, 1912,” dealing with the pollution of rivers and now being introduced into Parliament, is not in the best interests cf the Dominion, and this Society views with disapproval and emphatically protects against the Bill as being highly detrimental to the aims and objects of Acclimatisation Societies in the preservation and propogation of fish in the Dominion.

The Secretary was instructed to telegraph a copy of the above resolution to Mr J. 13. Hine, M.P.
