WEDDING BELLS.

MANDER—BELCHER.

The Cardiff Church, on Wednesday morning, was paced to the doors, the occasion being the marriage of Miss Minnie Louise Belcher, and second daughter of Mr and Mrs J. T. Belcher (who, by the way, are old and respected residents of Cardiff), to Mr Albert Thomas, third son of Mr and Mrs (Ainrew Mander, also of Cardiff. The Rev. W. <A. Butler, vicar of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford, performed the marriage ceremony, the Church being beautifully decorated by the friends of the bride and bridegroom. The bride, who was given away by her father, was handsomely attired, and looked charming in a cream silk voile, the bodice being trimmed with silk braid, silk allover lace and silk cord, and tunic skirt trimmed with silk braid, looped together with silk cord. She wore the usual orthodox veil and orange blossoms, and carried a lovely bouquet, the gift of Mrs Crossley, which was very much admired. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Meta Belcher (sister -of the bride), and Miss Clara Mander (sister of the bridegroom) Miss Freda Belcher and Miss Florice Mander attended! :as flower , girls. Mr Wallace Clifton Bdlcher (brother of the bride) carried out the.dutiesiof best man. Miss ' MetA Belcher (chief bridesmaid) wore it : cream Khahtona dress trimmed with silk allover lace and insertion, cream straw hat trimmed with cream silk ribbon, and Marguerite daisies. Miss Clara Mander wore a cream silk drees trimmed with silk insertion, and cream straw hat trimmed with blue ribbon and blue !lV flowors> Miss-Freda dressed'bn -a” tunic of Khantona trimmed' with guipure lace and insertion, ■ and - wore a fancy straw bonnet,'trimmed with silk ribbon. Miss Florice ‘ Mander was dressed in cream silk muslin trimmed with silk insertion, and also wore a fancy straw bonnet, trimmed with silk ribbon and blue, forget-me-nots. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a crescent-shaped gold brooch set With rubies, also a handsome travelling companion, and to the bridesmaids, gold brooches, set with amethysts, pearls, turquoise and pearls respectively, and the flower girls gold brooches set with amethyst and pearls. Miss E. Coklwell officiated. at the organ, and played the Wedding March, as- the bridal party left the church. After the ceremony, the guests, who numbered over 100, were entertained at breakfast at the residence of the bride’s parents, all the space in Mr Belcher’s large dining-room being fully taken up. After the bridal cake had been cut, the Rev. Butler, in a neat little speech, proposed the health of the bride and bridegroom, which' was responded to by the bridegroom. “The Bridesmaids,” proposed by the Bridegroom, was responded to by Mr W. C. Belcher. Mr G. A. Marchant proposed the health of the parents of the bridegroom, responded to by Mr J. T. Belcher. Mr J. M’Allister, of Stratford; was present and photographed the party. Mr and Mrs Belcher also gave a social and dance in the evening for the young people, which was very much enjoyed. The happy couple left by motor car (amidst showers of rice and confetti), en route for Palmerston North where the honeymoon will bo spent. The bride’s travelling dress was a neat grey tailor-made costume, faced with black and white striped silk, and brown hat trimmed with autumn leaves and berries and brown and green feathers. The high esteem in which the bride was held was evidenced by the great number of presents received. These included quite a lot of cheques.
