PROSPECTUS DELAYED. (Received 8.15 a.m.) | London ,September 26. ( In consequence of Mr Jordan’s (Bri-' tish Ambassador’s) action, the prospectus of tlie loan has been delayed. OPINIONS ABOUT THE LOAN. (Received 9.55 a.m.) London, September 26. Messrs Birch and Crisp, the firm who are negotiating the Chinese loan, states that they obtained Dr. Morrison’s support before launching the loan. City, men believe it will help to restore British prestige, in the Far East. The Foreign Office verbally informed the firm that it was unable to prevent the issue, but it would not recognise their action. Financial papers favour China’s action. The Stock Exchange at the outset opposed it, until it found the security was identical with that offered to the six Powers. The Daily News and the Chronicle denounce the action of the Powers. The former likens them to a bloodsucking money-lender, and is sorry Britain is talcing the lead in an undefying business.
