The Government Meteorologist (Rev. T). C. Bates) telegraphed this afternoon as follows:—•„< The indications are for variable and moderate breezes. Southerly winds moderate to strong prevailing and backing by west to north. Weather cold and changeable, with passing showers. Barometer rising slowly, but fall after 20 hours.
