BRITAIN'S POSITION

The Times says that there is reason to hope that M. Sazanoff and Sir E. Grey will find a method of safeguarding both countries, and the interests of Persia, without violating Persia's integrity or depriving her of such independence, as she still possesses. The Daily News says that despite the Anglo-Russian agreement Northern Peria> is under Russia's heel. The Liberals must insist on the withdrawal of the Russian troops; otherwise Russia will not retain Britain's co-opera-tion. St. Petersburg, September 21. The Novoe Vrcmya urges Britain and Russia to save liberty of action in the l-O'spective spheres. Teheran, without doubt, is within the Russian sphere. It is imperative that Britishers should be convinced of this simple truth. (Received 9.5 a.m.) London, September 22.
