IN THE COURTS.
, NAPIER SESSIONS. (Per Press Association.) Napier, September 20. The criminal sessions of the Supreme Court concluded to-day. Edward Jas. Harmer, convicted of breaking and entering and theft from a storeroom at the Wairoa Hotel, had sentence deferred until the morning. Two young Maoris, Reuben Puha and Huaki Hohepa, were found guilty with a recommendation to mercy, on a charge of sheep-stealing. Accused were admitted to three years’ probation, and ordered to pay £lO 10s each, costs of tho prosecution, and allowed three months in which to pay. Napier, September 21.
At the Supreme Court Edwin James Harmer was sentenced to three years’ for breaking and entering and theft at Wairoa.
A decree absolute was granted in the divorce case Hayworth v. Hayworth. the sequel to a bigamy case heard at the present session.
