FATALITY NEAR MIDDLEMARCH

Samuel Stevens, aged 75, died as the result of injuries received *by the upsetting of a spring cart at Sutton K'U, near Middlemarch. At the inquqst, a verdict was returned in accordance with the medical evidence, that death was duo to shock and injury to the lung.
A BULLOCK-DRIVER'S DEATH
Cisborne, September 19.
In the vicinity 'of ; the Matawhero sileyards yesterday an acoident occurred that terminated fatally. A man named Samuel Torr, aged 55, a bul-lock-driver for Mr J. Clark, was driving a team of bullocks along the road on his way to Te Aria, and when passing the Matawhero saleyards the unfortunate man, who was sitting on the shaft, jumped off the waggon, presumably to turn his bullocks to the side of the road. He slipped and fell under the front wheel, and both wheels passed over his body, completely fracturing his thighs. He was removed to the public hospital this morning, where he died. Deceased informed the doctor that it was purely an accident, and nobody was to blame. .
A MOTOR CAR COLLISION
Palmerston North, September 19
A man named Pearson, while carrying a can of milk to a church celebration at Waituna, at G. 30 to-night, on his bicycle, was run into by a motor car owned by E. Short and driven by his chauffeur. It is stated that in neither case were there lights. Pearson was badly injured. He was brought
to Palmerston North, and his recovery is doubtful.
THROWN AGAINST |A MOTOR CAR CYCLIST'S SERIOUS ACCIDENT. Feilding, September 20. Yesterday evening about six o'clock a serious accident happened near Waituna. E. Durranfc in a motor car saw E. Pearson, farmer, cycling towards him down a somewhat steep decline, Pearson carrying a can of milk. Though the motor car gave the cyclist most of the road Pearson swerved into the car, struck the mudguard, and pitched th-rough the glass wind shield. He was terribly cut and smashed. He was conscious when picked up and said his knee must have struck the can which caused the bike to turn. Pearson was taken to the Palmerston Hospital. SUPPOSED SUICIDE.
Ohristchurch, September 19. Tracy Percy Pengreaven Wills, 35 years of age, d'ed suddenly about \ p.m. to-day, under somewhat tragic circumstances. Ho was in a cycle shop and appeared to be in a perfectly nor-: Trial state of health, when he asked for and was given a glass of water. A few minutes afterwards he collapsed, and medical assistance being got lie was declared to be suffering from the effects of a strong acid poison and a small bottle found on his j person led to a strong presumption of suicide. It is understood that be has been worried over financial matters during the past few weeks, lie leaves a wife and two children.
