PLUMP WIFE WANTED.
Mr D. L. Hardenbrook, a prominent solicitor of Jamaica, Long Island (N. Y.), caused a sensation recently by announcing that a client of bis, a millionaire widower, is seeking “a plump wife.” Mr Hardenbrook announces that be is fully posted as to bis client’s requirements, but his name is withheld in order to protect him from the stampede of would-be brides which such an advertisement would bo sure to provoke. All applications must be made to the solicitor. Personal interviews with the prospective bridegroom /■an only be arranged after his legal adviser has inspected and passed the candidates. Mr Hardenbrook allows it to he known that his client is 62, and that he posesses a fortune of £1,600,000. He has several middle-aged children, but the solicitor apparently does not think that this will he a serious obstacle to the plump damsel who is looking for a wealthy htfebfcnd. ' ’ The mails.for Jamaica were immediately increased' by several thousand letters asking for further particulars, and dilating* Hie charms and plumpness of the inquirers.
