Nowton King's vVeekiy Report. On Monday, 2nd instant, at ray Orenui yards there was a very good entry of cattle coming forward much in excess of advertised numbers. Two | very nice pens of bullocks were yarded from Okau, one pen of 3yr-olds realising £6 5s and a'well done line of 2 to 3yr mixed £5 13s (id. yearling cattle were not in demand. Prices realised were: Yearling heifers £2 lis to £3, yearling steers £2 Is, mixed yearlings £1 18s to £3, bulls £3 ss, store cons £2 18s to £3 17s, forward cows £4 13s to £ss, fat cows £6 2s to £7 Is, empty 2yr heifers £3 17s to £1 Bs, 2-yr steers, £3 17s to £1 6s, springing heifers from £4 10s to £7. 15s, according to quality. Dairy' cows, poor class offered, from £4 12s 6d to £8 15s, store pigs £1 Is, dray £5. At Stratford on Tuesday, 3rd, cattle both in my store and dairy yards came forward well in excess of advertised numbers, considerably over 1200 head being yarded, a fair number of outside buyers being present. About 200 head of 3 and 4-yr bullocks were penned and looked in excellent condition notwithstanding their long drive from the back of Whangamomona. Bidding for bullocks was very good, the lot with the exception of a pen of 2Jyr-olds being cleared during the day. Good store cows and best yearlings sold well, other cattle at late rates as follows: Yearling steers £2 3s to £3, mixed yearlings £1 12s to £2 10s, yearling heifers grades £2 10s to £2 19s and £3 0s for a line of Ayrshire-Shorthorns, grade Jersey yearlings £3 7s, store cbws, good £3 10s Od to £3 17s 6d, forward cows from £4 7s to £5 Is 6d, according to quality, fat cows, small £5 14s to £6 os, had coloured 18-mths to 2yr steers from £3 to £3 Us, good line of 2yr old steers from back country £4 7s 6d, 2} to 3yr bullocks £5 9s Od to £5 10s, 3yr-old bullocks, good £6 5s 6d, £G 4s, £6 3s, bad coloured •!yr bullocks £5 18s M, good quality lyr bullocks £7, empty 2yr heifers, s nail £3 15s to £4, good and coloured (.'J 10s to £5 ss. Iti my dairy pens there was an excellent demand for all stock, a clearance being made right through as follows:—On account of Mr C. Watchorn best cows made from £8 10s to £lO, others £5 5s to £7 (averaging £8 15s); on account of Mr G. Hobbs from £8 5s to £l3, heifers £7 10s j on account of other vendors, best cows from £8 5s to £ll I.os, second grade £5 10s to £7 10s, best heifers from £8 to £9 10s, others from £5 to £7.

At my Sfconey River yards on Wednesday 1 had again a very good entry all clases being yarded including some very fine pens of 2 to 3yr steers," which met with a good demand. Competition was also very keen on springing heifers, and dairy cows, some very fine cattle in this class being offered. On Thursday sth I conducted (in conjunction with the X.Z. Loan and Mercantile Co., Hawera) Mr R. H. Phillips' auxiliary dispersal sale and had an excellent attendance. Bidding throughout was very good especially for the best quality cows. Heifers showing well forward were in excellent demand, realising as follows: Best heifers from £lO to £l4 15s, good from £G 15s to £9 15s, backward £5 10s to £5 15s, heifers and calf £1 15s to £6 10s, dairy cows choicest £l6 to • £2O ss, first grade £ll 10s to £l4 10s, good £9 to £lO 10s, lato calvcrs and aged £5 10s to £7. in my Kaponga yards on Friday owing to the wretched weather ! had only a small entry. Best quality dairy heifers from £8 to £l3 10s, others £5 10s to £6 ss, in calf cows £6 15s to £7 ss, store cows £2 18s to £.'>, small yearlings £1 16s, 18-months steers £3 Bs, forward ewes 12s lOd.

The pedigree Holstein sale on the same day at my Waiwakaiho yards attracted buyers and fanciers of the breed from all parts of New Zealand. The sale proved a X.Z. record for pedigree stock, the whole catalogue being disposed of at prices already published.

At the Haymarlcct, N.P., on Saturday, 7th inst., my pig pens were- filled with all classes.
