CYCLING. (Per Press Association.) Timani, September 13. For the Timaru-Christchurch road race, to be run on Thursday, September 26, 118 entrants have been handicapped. The scratch division includes! O'Shea (Australasian champion), I). Kirkham (Commonwealth champion), and N. Wadman (fastest rider in the Taranaki race); P. Huinm, J. Clarke and J. Coulter arc on the three minutes' mark; J. W. Wilson (Victoria) and A. Birch -Imin; H. Henderson and H. H. Ronalds omin, P. 13. Henry and A. R. Crook (Sydney) 7min. Twenty riders have received starts not exceeding 15min, and the limit men have 10 minutes. CRICKET. Dunedin, September 13. A meeting of the Otago Cricket. Association was held this evening to consider the question of a visit from the Melbourne team. Mr Ceorgo, of Welliugon, wrote stating that in the team woul bo eight or nine first-grade men, including Trott, Scott, Facy, McCormick, Pentland and Kinny, and two or three champions, possibly Laver and Noble. It was decided to offer the team £BO, or two-thirds of the net proceeds of the gate for'a three days' match provided the first or second day be a Saturday. HOCKEY. Christchurch, September 13. The Xew Zealand ladies' hockey tournament was continued this afternoon at Sydenham Park in fine weather. There was a good attendance of spectators.
