Fifty thousand pounds has been given ananymously to the Carvinstic Methodist Churches in Wales. The Parliamentary Committee of the Trade Union Congress and the General Federation of Trade Unions adhered to the insurance commissioners' memorandum relating to the transfer and reserve of values of insureds. It is now admitted that the interpretation placed on insurance by the Newport Congress was erroneous. Berlin, September 13. It has been decided to connect Westcrlandsylt Island with Schlesivigholstein by an embankment, costing a quarter of a million sterling and the prolongation of the mainland railway with a view to fortifying and garrisoning the island.
