The Government lias agreed to permit of the transference of Mexican troops through United States territory in order to enable them to attack the rebels at Sonora. It is stated that the decision is likely to inflame the rebels further against the Americans residing in the disturbed areas. _Tiie State Department announces the j defeat of the rebel loader, General Halazer. It is expected that the rebels will be driven southwards of the border and that subsequently there will lie fewer clashes with the United States troops engaged to maintain neutrality.
